100 INFLUENTIAL NIGERIAN WRITERS UNDER 40

At the end of every year, it is the tradition of Nigerian Writers Awards (NWA) to release 100 outstanding Nigerian Writers under 40 who have distinguished themselves in their respective writing fields and cover virtually all category of writing (Media, Literature, Entertainment and Arts).

This list of 100 most influential Nigerian writers under 40 making a change, impacting lives with their writing, earning national and global achievements in the year under review (November 2016- October 2017) was compiled after six months of critical reviews, series of interviews and nominations both online and offline.

It is our pleasure to announce to you that the pioneer of Creative Writing News, Chioma Iwunze Ibiam, made this exclusive list of talented writers. Other writers among a host of others who made the list include;

The Nigerian Writers Awards (NWA) is a platform organized to reward excellence, celebrate Nigerian Writers of different genres (Media, Literature, Entertainment and Arts), to brand the nation positively through the skills of writing using the media, more so to create a synergy between budding and established writers in Nigeria and diaspora.

 

Chioma Iwunze -Ibiam’s Bio

Chioma Iwunze-Ibiam is a gifted writer, author and blogger. Her blog “creativewritingnews.net” is worth a visit for any writer, not just those interested in learning how to write. Though studied Mathematics and Computer Science did not deter her from doing what she loves doing best.

Her first novel Finding Love Again was published by Ankara Press. She has published fiction, non-fiction and poetry in several newspapers and literary journals including MTLS, Long Story Short, Fiction 365, Saraba, Sentinel and Tribes Write.

She was the semi-finalist at the 2014 ACT award, Cecilia Unaegbu flash fiction contest and Farafina blog’s Voice of America flash fiction contest. She also won the 2016 Nigerian Writers Awards Literary Blog of the Year.

Miriam David

Miriam is a creative writer, short story blogger, editor and contributor on creativewritingnews.net . She is an alumnus of the great University of Benin, a philosopher and an aspiring author of best sellers to come. When she is not writing, she is either working, keeping up with social media trends,reading novels, listening to good music, seeing movies or dreaming up stories.

    I write to underscore the point that the list says “100 Influential Nigerians Under 40”. The active word is the adjective, the descriptive word “influential”. You’ve distinguished yourself. You’re outstanding. A person of influence in the literary world.
