The Okike Prize for Literature is a new initiative based in Nigeria which seeks to reward literary excellence to Nigerian University students in three genres: poetry, prose and drama.
There is no particular theme for this submission call. So writers and visual arts are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Works of fiction should be submitted in Times New Roman, be double-spaced and not be more than 1,500 words. Poetry should be submitted in any style and theme but must not exceed 1,000 words.
Submission must be sent in as a word attachment or PDF, with a cover letter specifying University or campus of origin, level and contact details.
Okike is an Igbo word which means creator, though contextually, it means means creativity.
